Christopher Fuentes-Padilla, an Eagle Scout, has served as a Citywide Scouting Officer (An Elected Office) and currently is the Vice Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Queens County.

Today in a Community Information Release on Facebook Live, Christopher R. Fuentes-Padilla, A Oakland Gardens Community Member and Eagle Scout from Bayside's very own Troop 142, announced his attempt to run for the Democratic Party's Nomination for NYS Assembly District 25's Seat.

The district is currently represented by the Party's own Incumbent, Nily Rozic from Fresh Meadows, NY. She has been serving since 2012.

In his announcement speech, he stated that "It's time for the next generation of America to take charge of their own future." He stated that he is in support of a number of issues, from tackling the fight for women's equality on all fronts (Public or Private Sector) to fighting for homeless services to be "held accountable to do their job."

He stated that "Nily Rozic is said to be in support of women's equality, educational reform and other major issues in our district. Yet, she still to this day, has NOT proposed legislation to support those issues and resolve them."

He also attached to his official statement a sample of a legislation he hopes to write within 50 days of his first legislative session. He called it the "New York State of Success" Bill or to be officially called the "Disabled, Displaced and Homeless Success Assistance Act". The plan for the act is to mandate that the state provide funding for those that have been deemed displaced, severely disabled or homeless for more than a month. The funding will be given to those who qualify and are willing to subject to: Random Drug Screenings, Mandated Job Placement and High School Equivalency Training (For those who do not have it) and the option of Interning at a Government Office or other Public Service Volunteer or Unpaid Position for at least 1 1/2 the amount of time the State paid for their services.

He stated that he "Hopes that his fellow citizens in the district vote for change and help grow the next generation of politicians and community leaders. And that my fellow neighbors know that a vote for me is a vote against the special interests and borderline corruption that exists in Albany."

He invites people to go to his website and book a meeting with him and his staff to speak about anything that the person wants.
